Rewriting Art Writing

A regular feature that assesses contemporary articles on art published elsewhere by rewriting them. To approach art without the terms set by the review, press release or audio tour evokes a tension clouded in stylization. The art writer refuses the think the meaning of her own words while the reading public fervently disavows the faculty of discrimination. Against the stenciled nature of what it means to write about art today, these rewrites will not simply satirize, but—at long last—give the object a chance to fail or succeed on its own terms.
